Gentle yoga classes are for those who would like a softer, slower paced yoga practice. Minimal amount of pressure will be applied to wrists, knees, and shoulders while maximizing stretch, range of motion, balance and breath. Postures will be approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on repetition and breathing. A gentle yoga style encourages individuals to work at their own pace with ongoing encouragement. It is beneficial for beginners, seniors, people recovering from injury or surgery, and everyone in between!
The focus in Anna's Hatha yoga class is to work on actions (strength, flexibility, and/or balance) of poses themselves rather than a flow from pose to pose. They're not necessarliy .linked together with breath based movements as in vinyasa flow. Action(s) of pose(s) are explored and practiced with emphasis on customized alignment that is appropriate for each student. Breathwork and calming poses are practiced at the end of class to balance the mind and body.
